John 5:16- 17, So the Jewish leader began harassing, Jesus for breaking the Sabbath rules. 17) But Jesus replied, “My Father is always working, and so am I”
Jesus heals a man on the Sabbath at the Pool of Bethseda. Jesus asked the man a very important question who had been lying by the pool of Bethseda for thirty-eight years: Do You want to be made whole? In other words, do you care enough about your problem to do something about it- even if it requires on your part some action, effort, sacrifice, or even suffering? The first step in overcoming your problem whether it is emotional, physical or spiritual is to admit that you are in need and desire change. Just as the man and many of us who are in need answered the Lord with self-pity. Jesus sees you in need of help and sends a willing person to help do you play the victim role, and say there is no hope for me or nobody love me? Let me keep it real with you if you keep that attitude it is unlikely to experience healing. In his glory, Jesus is gracious and knows your deepest desires, he cuts through your pity party and challenges you to “Get Up”, you don’t have time to wait for people to pity you “Get up” take your problem and move, surrender it to me and give me access to the un-surrender area in your life and let me heal you. Jesus always drops some heavy knowledge on us when he says, “I tell you the truth, the Son can do nothing by himself, and He does only what he sees the Father doing, Whatever the Father does, the Son also does.
Every waking moment of life the Father and His son is working, no vacations, no rest, Just waiting for access to those areas you need healing in. Do not neglect Jesus gracious gift to heal you. The man was not only healed physically, but his sins were forgiven and healed spiritually. This is what Jesus means to be “Whole” he leave nothing undone if you let him in. If you desire a touch from the Lord, then I encourage you to ask yourself if you are ready to experience change and willing to do something about your situation. You will experience healing when you let God know you are obedient to His will and eager to do whatever it takes for you to be whole. He will send Jesus in the form of a person, a verse from His Word, or a new thought in your mind. Don’t Wait! Do what God tells you to do, He made you, and He knows how to fix precisely what is broken within You!
My brother and sister I encourage you to walk firmly away as did the man with his mat under his arm and testifying “Jesus Healed Me.” When God power brings about positive change in your life, don’t let doubters convince you these changes are only coincidence or a twist of fate. Our Father in Heaven and His Son Jesus is always working to prove doubters that we serve a living God that still able to heal and deliver us….Walk in your Healing!

In the busyness of life, it seems as though we are running out of time. We are wearing many hats, wife, husband, friend, family, church and list goes on and on. I realized that we need a little bit more balance in our lives. We are too busy to discern, pray, pay attention to our lives falling apart right before our eyes and it is only until we hit rock bottom. We ask that famous question ” How did I get here?” and moreover, how do I get out of it Now! Too often we go through life without thinking about what we’re are doing and what does it all means. Time does not stand still for no one and for every item not achieved on your to do and bucket list. It appears everyday we are running out of time. Life is being lived, days, weeks, months and years are passing us by and yet we are not living life, life is living us. Although we may not give up on life, we still express our greatest need is to have more time. If it would be left up to us we would like to control time, so we can savior our moments as we create memories. It’s like requesting God to put time in a bottle on our behalf. What we need today is Balance!
Satan is seeking to devour us and he looking for someone who gives him an opening to do so. One of the most important ways he can destroy us is through an imbalanced life. An unbalanced life over a long period of time we send a longstanding invitation to Satan to walk through the door of our life to bring all kinds of problems, chaos, diseases and sicknesses. In 1peter 5:8 Be well balanced… for that enemy of yours the devil, roams around like a lion roaring, seeking someone to seize upon and devour. We can’t allow the enemy to move in to our lives and make himself at home by placing his ugly furniture of lies and doubt in the four corners of our minds.
God desires that our minds be in perfect peace. I realize that a sense of peace is not predicated by our circumstances but by our state of mind. The more you focus on God, His sovereignty and His love for you, everything that is going on around you matters less and less. Find balance in all you do, keep you mind fixed on Christ , regardless of what is happening all around you and keep the enemy away from your door….Rev. Sakinah O’ Kane~Smith
Just a couple of days ago I had an argument, but I would prefer to call it “heated fellowship” (Smile) with two family members and in that instant I said some really hurtful things. I really acted out on my emotions. Have you ever had an emotional battle internally that spill out expressively with words and sometimes behavior we are not so proud of . Well I surely was at that place and when I calmed down I began to get convicted by my actions and realize I ended this heated fellowship in the wrong way. You see my intentions was to let Jesus take the wheel and calmly discuss ways to resolve our issues and make sure that the Christ in me, at the end of the day was left as the lasting memory. Like a lingering fragrance of a sweet aroma.
But instead this was an epic fail! I was so angry my vision was blurry and I started to see these family members like my enemy and didn’t identify the enemy for this conflict from the jump. Thank God for ten minute retreats. Honey my ten minute retreat help save a lot of lives… No I mean that literally. Ten minutes of silence in the presence of God. Wew…that was good and in my reflection I recognize my part in the heated exchange and I have decided to apologize for my actions. God showed me in this matter that I needed to have a different perspective of how I look at people and how I treat them.
Well, in the beginning God created Adam and Eve and through Christ we have become new creatures in this old planet. Consider this: shifting your perspective to see people through the eyes of God and as God’s creation is far more amazing than we seem to believe…We are made a little above the angels…God is so awesome making us Christians ambassadors, priest, kings and oracles to mold and transform this planet called earth until His return. And I know you don’t, because I surely don’t want to have another encounter with anyone else without them smelling my beautiful aroma of Jesus Christ!
So before you break the bank with buying the latest fragrances…You ought to break open your Word bank and get the aroma of knowledge of Jesus Christ! Really life would be so much easier…For Real this time….(smile) Rev. Sakinah
When your in a crisis who or what do you turn to for help? What do you value and admire most? To what or to whom are you giving your available time? There is a famous quote “if you haven’t had trouble in your life, just keep on living” Life can hit us hard, so hard we fall to our knees. At the startling beginning of a crisis a problem exist. The problem can be so enormous we become fearful and begin to doubt that is no solution or a way out. Fear can make a person doubt their abilities and become paralyze making it difficult to see the ending of a thing, problem, crisis etc. Fear motivates one to develop a “Just in case” or “You never know” mentality that leaves a person always looking over their shoulder. While fear is present in most every circumstance of life, it does not have to paralyze you. So I pose the question when you are in a crisis and feeling fearful who do you look too for comfort.
Do you turn to your friends for advice and directions, drugs and sex to help you forget the pain, shopping to feed your depression. It is important to realize that whatever you deem important and instinctively turn to in times of trouble is an idol. There are many modern day idols that appear to offer strength and joy, but those who trust in them soon find out that the idol’s image of strength is a fabricated thought or a facade. In this life there will be many more problems to experience and solve, but who do you look for to provide you authentic joy and peace in the midst of it all is in our Father in Heaven. Quiet time with God can help you refocus your life and give you the balance you need to handle any problem. Proverbs 3:5-6 Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding 6) in all your ways submit to him and he will make your paths straight.
God is the one we seek daily to impart to us comfort, guidance, directions, joy and peace that desires life. Psalms 34: asks the question Who is the man who desires life and loves many days, that he may see good? Keep your tongue from Evil ( Life and death is in the power of your tongue). Speak life over your dead situations. Speak the desired outcome of your problem and it shall be granted within God’s Will concerning you. Depart from evil and do good. Sometimes people hurt you in the process or they become your problem. Do good because the Lord will fight your battles…Seek and pursue peace. Through the fear, hurt and pain it is comforting to know that God’s eyes are on the righteous and His ears are open to their cry.
Who we are today is a direct reflection of what has been important to us. If you live a life of worship there will be a distinct resemblance of our Savior Jesus the Christ.
Luke 8:17 for all that is secret will eventually be brought into the open and everything that is concealed will be brought to light and made known to all..
How often do we pay attention to the things we try to keep hidden only to realize God will uncover those things that are concealed. Interestingly enough to believe that you own your secrets is just insane..Your Secrets is never your own…to avoid further sinful acts consider Transparency it will make life much easier then burning unnecessary energy covering your flaws, lies and secrets… Truth is the only remedy that sets you free! Drawing closer to God requires that we go before Him with all vulnerability and in a childlike manner…our brokenness is our strength made perfect in Him. God love us no matter what and that is all that matters….
Making life goals with God involve may be the most liberating and helpless task to do ? why you ask ? Because His plan ultimately overshadows ours. I dreamed of becoming an Accountant and For over ten years I worked as a Social Worker an just when I attempted to get a Masters degree in Social Work I was rejected from the school of my choice even while having a 4.0 GPA to filling out an application for Seminary at a Christian bookstore just so that I can receive a $30 book voucher….😍 Hey your girl loves a sale $$$ I earned a Masters of Divinity and currently working on my Doctors for Ministry degree. All of this was God’s call and His plan. I am helplessly in Love with God that I will follow His Plan and His Voice and His Call it is the only vocation that have greatest benefit package, the secret to obtaining this is to Answer His Call….
Then listen for job description and responsibilities and wait for the next opportunity to obey His call and then Ask…
On this journey called life there are moments when you feel alone. God is omnipresent He is every where at the same time. He is the guide to your future, protection from your enemies and the provider of all your needs. #encouragement #protection, #motivation, # Life, #morningPraise, #Glory #
