A Second Touch!

Mark 8:23-25 – Then Jesus placed his hands on the man’s eyes again, and his eyes were opened. His sight was completely restored and he could see everything clearly.

Can you picture it, Jesus taking you by the hand out of the place, where you were ostracized, rejected, looked over and not fully accepted?  Did you ever need God to rescue you out of your darkest moment or maybe there are some things you just don’t see clearly. You said, Jesus I need a miracle right Now!

At the beginning of this narrative, it tells us that some people brought the blind man to Jesus begging for Him to touch and heal the blind man. It is always a blessing to have some people in your life who care enough about you to bring you to Jesus for healing. Many times people will give household remedies, or un-godly advice and sometimes based off of their own experiences. There are some people who knows who to bring you too when you are in trouble and you have exhausted all other resources. wp-1461605310932.jpg

Sometimes there are unseen aspects to healing. In this case, intimacy and time with Jesus is the essential ingredient. We read of Jesus leading the man out of the city holding his hand, picture it in your mind. Something happened, deeper than physical healing. Maybe he was being healed of a spirit of rejection, all his life people probably shunned him, and he was a beggar viewed as rejected and despised by God.  Let’s just reflect on the fact that Jesus had to lead him out of the city, because there are just some places that are not conducive for healing. For many, reason such as: unbelief or environments are hostile to healing and in some instances God’s ability to bless was being limited because of man’s ability to receive.  Has Jesus ever led you out of some place, comfort zone, city, church, job, or even a relationship that just wasn’t conducive for your healing, just so he can bless you? If not maybe you didn’t sit long enough to finish the work on you. Maybe you just like this blind man and need a second touch.

I realize there are times when God is trying to get our attention He may call your name more than once, just asks Samuel or maybe He will ask you three of the same questions, like he did Peter…. Do you love me more than these? Peter, then feed my sheep! ( John 21:15-17). Blindness to the understanding and thought life and we have to renew our minds daily so that we can change our worldly perspectives to a heavenly one. The eyes are useless when the mind is blind! wp-1461605337924.jpg

If you look closely, Jesus spit on the man’s eyes the first time and asked him can you see anything now? The man’s eyes were not fully opened, could be that he was straining to receive his deliverance, because maybe he is just many of us struggle from the negative self –talk we can’t see ourselves healed. Your healing can be held up, Proverb 6:2-3  encourages us to save ourselves from the entrapment you got caught up in by your own agreement of what you said out of your mouth.  Jesus had imparted divine life into this man, as He desires to do for us. Thank God for a second touch! Some healing are instant but in this story the healing was done in stages. Sometimes, God will heal us in stages so he can demonstrate spiritual truths in our lives. Often time, not always spiritual truth is not perceived the first time. The first touch was when he saw people like walking trees.

The 25th verse says his sight was restored…. Hold Up any time you have something restored, that indicated that you had something before. In this case this man had sight before, but earlier in his life he couldn’t see things as clear. I sense the Lord saying, don’t be in a rush with me, “wait I am not done with you.” I gave you a glimpse of your healing, your deliverance, your vision but I need you to spend more time with me so I can touch your eyes a second time, so that you may see clearer than ever before. Daily seek God until you expire for clear directions, instructions for strategies to fulfill his assignments He has entrusted you with to demonstrate his power and His Will on earth.

I’ve Been Framed !

A framework is often a layered structure indicating what kind of things can or should be build and how they would interrelate. Framework are sets of functions within a system and layers of an operating system that are interrelated. In which all have levels of standardized communication networks that is generally more comprehensive than a protocol and more prescriptive than a structure.

May I invite you on a journey about a movement called Christianity. It is a movement and not just a monumental event. It is a way of life that moves from level to level. For the believer of Christ its framework and basic structure is based on the Word of God.

Just like any recognizable skyscrapers that were ever built, the frame is its supporting factor that is build upon substructures and structures, beams and columns that fit together to form a building.  However, the most hidden part of the edifice is always the substructure, the unseen strength that enables a building to rise at its height.  As a Christian our Framework( God’s Word) brings structure and order to our lives.

In this life we lean towards the visible and the spectacular, we pride ourselves and measure our influence and accomplishments. Sadly, today we have more Christians focusing more on their Superstructures which represents the outward accomplishments of their life and ministry that is built on their level of competence and skills. Warning! superstructures cannot rise to great heights without perils that create dead spaces in the life of the believer rather than a foundation to build on. This is why the focus must always be on the foundation rather than the superstructure.

Our Substructure is the unseen foundation, where our true strength lies.We must have a deep and secure structure in order to lay hold our firm foundation. The christian framework should be build on a life of worship. A wise Christian does not neglect the substructures in their lives.

There are Five Specific Substructures that Christians need to guard in their personal life.

A. Relationships How do you do relationships. It is a time spent with family and kindred spirit friends. Time spent in fellowship with the community of God.

Motivational-picture-about-rebuilding-yourself-from-the-broken-piecesB. Mind How do you think today? Do you have a Christ centered worldview?

C. Money– How do you handle money? I was taught by a bible scholar Pastor Willie Dixon “that money is my friend and just like any other friend you respect it.”

D.Experiences– Have you come to a place of maturity where you can actually glean life lessons from your experiences?

E. Time- How do you do time? On what do you spend your time doing? Time is a precious commodity and should be managed well. Quality time with God is essential for the believer it builds your faith and relationship with the one true source of your strength.

Who we are, what we do when no one sees, forms the substructures of our lives. How we live before God in the fear of Him, held together by our humility, wisdom and perseverance is the only path to take that will allow you to get the full optimum of your life and to experience biblical prosperity. You have to willing to invest and cultivate a life work of excellence with a continued maintenance and practice of spiritual disciplines that guarantees growth of your substructures when they are anchored in God. When you live a life of excellence it makes the devil have to do two things. 1. Flee your premises or 2. Submit to your authority in God. a life of excellence shuts the door to the enemy’s activity in your life.

Let God frame you today.

How To Detect Your Christian Friend is Your #1 Hater

Haters are going to hate. A haters primary function is to cast doubt and negativity upon you. These individuals can be identified in your inner circle, family member or a perfect stranger. Every successful step you take in life, those without an elite mentality will degrade your accomplishment. For example, getting a college degree, getting married or successful business. Everyone is entitled to their opinions, but at the end of the day. If you allow yourself to absorb their mess for a split second then it will derail you of your progress. It has been mine and other people’s experience that these are some of the ways to detect the haters in your life.

1. Critique your every move and say ” If I was You”

2. Secretly comparing yours spiritual gifts and anointing with his/hers trying to impress others in your inner circle.

3. Gossips behind your back telling all your secrets to others ( even influence others to hate you)

4. Can’t celebrate your accomplishments Haters are unable to really express congratulate

5. They want to be like you!- Most haters are mad at themselves they hate the fact that someone other than them are doing the thing that makes them happy.

6. Suggest you put yourself in uncompromising positions so that you fall into sin just to please others

7. Bring other people’s hateful comments/opinions about you to your attention

8. Lie and say they support your ministry– always making up all kinds of excuses of why they didn’t attend your ministry events. The truth is they can’t stand to see you win.

10. Using their anger towards you as an excuse and reason why they told all your confidential information to other people.

11. Secretly Waiting for Demise- Haters always want to know your progress in life just to make sure you are still suffering ( ex. they ask detailed questions)

12. Won’t Give an Appropriate Compliment-  this is one of the hardest things for haters to do …Instead they will say ” You Think you Cute or Something”

13. Body Language signs of sadness when you succeed- Their behavior and body language shows that they don’t like what is going on

14. Haters will display content when they find you unhappy– they become more energetic or even smile. sometimes they even fabricate and define your unhappiness as God’s Judgment to your disobedience to him.

15. Haters, Hate on your Facebook Posts- A hater won’t like or respond to anything that you post even if it appealed to him/her.

17. Will try to discourage or warn you when you attempt to achieve a God Size Assignment Some haters will try to act like a friend who cares for you. However, those are the ones who will usually try to warn you when you attempt to succeed in life, ministry etc or do something that they didn’t manage to do.

You must understand that in order to detect a hater you need to find all of these signs and in addition you need to make sure that this person(s) is repeating them. In life whether you like it or not you will come across mean people in your life and that’s why learning  how to deal with them is one essential life skill that you must acquire.

How to Deal with Your Haters

1. Don’t Let your Emotions take Control–  Always maintain your composure and live a life of integrity. Jay Z once said ” A wise man told them don’t argue with fools, because people from a distance can’t tell who is who.”

2. Focus on People Who Cares Don’t try to make your haters your fan, don’t waste time trying to change them, learn from them. They are the radar and detector of what you are doing right. Literally let your haters become your motivators

3. What’s More important than being able to identify these sources of negative energy is your ability to never show weakness to them.

Make Life Count!

When I was younger I heard my mother often say “you got to put the medal to the pedal in order to get some where in Life” Early on I realize only I can live out the reality of my success. Destiny starts with me and I got to get up and make it happen. Make your life count! Be productive and achieve measurable goals today and if you don’t achieve them today carry them over to tomorrow’s to do list…Sakinah O’Kane~Smith
